Lo genre Xenoturbella correspond a doas espècias d'animals marins d'aspècte vermifòrme. Dempuèi sa descobèrta en 1949, fa partida d'aqueles animals rars que lor plaça dins la classificacion quita pas de far debat, al punt de suscitar de longa de qualificatius tant inacostumats dins la premsa scientifica especializada coma « enigmatic », « estranh », « incertan ».
